Look inside

Page 1High between two mountains, the glacier rested. It was cold, and blue, and very, very still. It had been still for a long, long time. The glacier was sure it held the mountains quiet. It would stay. It would not go. Hmmmm, went the cold blue ice.

Page 2Long ago, the glacier had lifted a small round stone and held it close. Nothing moved up here — the glacier was certain of that. The little stone would rest near the top of the ice, right where it was, always.

Page 3One morning, the sun felt warm on the glacier's high, cold edge. A thin thread of water began to trickle down. Drip. Drip. Trickle. How strange — the glacier did not remember that little stream.
