Page 1High above the earth, in a cold gray cloud, a tiny drop of water waited. It was smaller than a pinprick, smaller than a speck of dust. It had been waiting for a long time, floating among millions of other drops. The drop was sure it would stay here forever, drifting in the cloud. It would not change. It would not fall. Brrr, went the cold cloud.
Page 2The drop was made of water, but it was not like the water in a glass. This water was so cold it could barely move. It huddled close to other drops, trembling in the freezing air. And in the middle of the drop, invisible and tiny, a speck of dust floated. A secret passenger.
Page 3One morning, something changed. The air grew even colder. The drop shivered. Its edges began to harden. Tiny ice crystals formed around the dust speck. The drop was becoming something new. Something beautiful. Something it had never been before.
